My name is Brandon Houser and I am 17 years old and the son of Seeds Founder, Jason Houser. I have grown up with Seeds and have always LOVED IT! I have respected my Dad for his passion to share God’s love with kids and families and my Mom has always been an awesome support on our crazy journey. I can’t believe it, but I was like 3 years old when we had our first Seeds event, now I get to be part of leading them with a new "Life on the road" for this 2019 summer. So cool!
I have been telling my Dad for years that Seeds needs to go on tour. I was never sure it would happen, so I was STOKED when he returned from the Seeds prayer retreat and said he wanted to talk about a summer tour. We knew God had to make a way, but I was so excited at the idea. I was also fired up to travel with my Dad, brother, and cousins (my best friends) to share about Jesus. We’ve all had different paths, but God has worked in us so BIG and we are all dedicated followers of Jesus. I knew this was a special moment for all of us.
As I write, the tour kicked off 10 days ago and tonight we have our fifth event. I cannot tell you how awesome it has been having a life on the road, playing Scripture songs, sharing our testimonies, and meeting the world’s most awesome people. It is so fun seeing how engaged families are in the concerts and seeing them excited about God’s Word.
I also crack up a little at each event. My cousin Kylie is Seeds Worship Girl and people know her from the hand motion videos on Right Now Media, DVDs, YouTube and more. The families and kids all line up to meet her. They all have a nickname for her too, most of them call her SMILEY! I get it too… she does smile 24 hour a day. (Pretty sure she sleep smiles.) It is always fun to watch her connect with kids and families.
One thing about being on the road is the amount of work we have to do at each event. It seems like we are always busting so hard. We have to set everything up and tear it all down and then do an event in the middle. After the events we are often so tired that we have a lot of loopiness and laughter. Yet these are the moments that bring us closer together. It is powerful to be on mission together, praying together, studying the word together, encouraging each other and helping each other. I am learning so much from this experience.
The highlights of the tour are simple. I love meeting our amazing brothers and sisters in Christ around the country. I've been around some of God’s most awesome people and been so encouraged by them. It's amazing seeing how these families live BIG for God in their communities.
But there’s one moment that gives me chills every single time, even though I know it’s coming. I love the last song in each event when we sing "Light of The World" and everyone holds up their glow-sticks. This has been a surprisingly powerful moment for me as I feel God’s presence and the unity in the room as we all proclaim that JESUS is the LIGHT OF THE WORLD. Young and old singing His Word and proclaiming His greatness. I love it!
If we are coming to a town near you, I hope that you will come and worship and hang out with us! I promise you won’t regret it.
