Welcome to the SEEDS FAMILY BOX

Welcome to the Seeds Family Box for April! We are featuring a great ministry resource created for young families called Owlegories. We hope this series inspires your kids and gives you an opportunity to connect with your children around some very creative illustrations of the truths in God’s Word.

Here’s what the Boto family had to say about how Owlegories got started: “My wife and I and our four boys, set out to create something unique that could involve our whole family. I am from Texas and my wife is from Alaska, so we wanted to blend our love for the outdoors with our love for Jesus… an idea to use the elements of creation to teach our kids about our God.”

You will immediately appreciate the quality of their work and how they are using their gifts for the God’s purposes. We believe Owlegories is going to bless your family BIG TIME this month.

This new line of books will have preschoolers giggling as they learn about the ways nature teaches us about God. Each book includes a short family devotional to help parents and grandparents talk more about the object lesson of the story through simple activities, memory verses, even adventures that will get you out of the house and into God s glorious creation!

In Twitch and the Invisible Wind, little Twitch learns to fly. His friends have lots of advice, but they can’t seem to help Twitch get off the ground. Finally, they realize he’s afraid. How can he trust the air to hold him up when he can’t even see it? With help from his friends,

Twitch begins to notice that the air is always there, showing up in the soft breeze, the wild wind, and even the little gusts that help him get off the ground. The wind reminds Twitch and his friends that God is like the wind always with us… showing up in surprising ways.

“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.” Psalm 19:1

“You can tell a lot about an artist by what he creates.” That is the whole premise behind Owlegories. Taking inspiration from the series banner verse, Psalm 19:1-4, Owlegories addresses the important theme of creation and explores the nature of God as the Creator of the Universe through the use of allegories, metaphors and analogies.

Owlegories teaches kids about God through the amazing things found in nature and revealed in God’s Word!

Here is the DVD synopsis for Owlegories Vol. 1 – The Sun, The Seed, and The Water

Episode 1: The Sun

On the first day of class with their new teacher, the students take to the desert in search of a rare, ancient artifact. Following this mysterious tool through the desert, the owls begin to discover ways in which the sun is like God, and the students discuss the ways in which the Creator of the Universe can be known through his creation.

Episode 2: The Seed

While visiting Yellingstone National Park with Professor Owlester, the students are on a quest to discover what makes seeds grow. Following an exciting scavenger hunt and making use of some helpful seeds, the owls discover that their faith can grow when properly nourished and cared for, just like the seeds!

Episode 3: The Water

While on a quest to hunt down the fountain of life, the owls have to band together to discover this secret destination. And in so doing, they also learn about the ways in which God, the Creator of all things, is like water!

Night Owls & Early Birds is a topical Bible study show for kids from the creators of Owlegories. In each episode, kids learn about God and His Word through three unique and fun segments. The Early Bird Show explores the history and science of each topic; the Nightly Round Up dives deeper into different passages of scripture; and the Night Owl Show recaps it all with a fun game at the end.

The theme verse behind the show is Deuteronomy 11:19 – “Teach them [God’s Word] to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”

Episode 1: God is Powerful

Join Hoot, Savannah, Melvin, Screech, and Charlie as they explore the power of God using the sun as a metaphor. The big idea is that since God created the sun, He must be even more powerful! “No one is like you, Lord; you are great, and your name is mighty in power.” Jeremiah 10:6 (NIV)

Episode 2: Jesus is Light of the World

God is light. He wants to shine His light in and through us. Just as the sun lights our path, God’s Word gives light to guide us. “This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5 (NIV)

Episode 3: God gives us life

Our news team explores God as the Creator of all living things. He gives us life both physically and spiritually. Just as the sun gives life to plants, Jesus gives new life to those who believe. “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.” Ephesians 2:4-5 (NIV)
