One of best things that we have done as parents over the last two decades is read out loud to our children. It can be a lost art in the age of screens, but we believe it is an important part of teaching your children and building your relationship with them.
We encourage you to start young and read simple Bible stores and other beneficial books to your children before they can read on their own. If your kids are like ours, once you get them started, they will want you to read to them all of the time.
We have included some great books for you to read. We have included one of our favorite children’s books ever, The Jesus Storybook Bible. It engages the creativity in a child’s heart and helps them connect the whole story of the Bible to Jesus. You will also discover a great children’s book written by Pastor/ Author Francis Chan that will make for great bedtime reading, and finally a foundational book for parents called Family Worship by Donald S. Whitney.
