Rise & Be Honored: Moms Who Have Suffered Loss

Kids Relationship with God Pt.2

Introduction: Moms Who Have Suffered Loss

This week we're doing a series in honor of Mother's Day entitled, "Rise and Be Honored." We have all seen it depicted that when a man or woman comes into the throne room of a King, they show honor by kneeling. When the King chooses to honor the one before them, he tells them to rise.

It is with this in mind that we named our series as we did. We feel God, our King, wants to show honor to women this week. We believe He wants to validate stories and bring recognition to moms, and women, everywhere. Each day we will highlight a new group of moms, both physical and spiritual - those who have celebrated and those who have grieved over those they mother. We hope you will join us by giving honor to the women in your life as well.

We also have a fantastic giveaway (see bottom of post for details) with lots of new prizes each day. Make sure to honor the women in your life in the comments below and on our social media profiles.

It's going to be an exciting week! We hope you will join us!

Day 2:  Moms Who Have Suffered Loss

We know there are those among us who celebrate Mother’s Day with a quiet grieving we don’t discern. While many will go about the day with celebration and gifts, we often overlook those who note the day with quiet observation. They excuse themselves from the holiday because of tremendous pain. Sometimes, it is the mother being honored who also silently grieves.

The idea of redemption, to which we all cling, is the idea that our deepest scar will be made beautiful. We believe God will make our stories of brokenness into stories of healing. That God will take our fragmented hearts and heal them, declaring His glory. He’ll teach us to sing a new song of joy.

So, in honor of our Mother’s Day series, Seeds Family Worship would like to say to you dear one, “we honor you.” We won’t waste space with too many words but stand with you quietly; your burden is our burden – your grief is our grief.

In the darkness of loss, we watch you hold to God's goodness. We watch you yield deep pain to Him expecting it to become new – not forgetting what has come before, yet letting Him breathe new life on your story. We watch you embrace God, convinced He will indeed crown you with beauty as you heal. We’re moved by your conviction that He is good even when your (and our) eyes want to see a different story.

You might not know this but your story impacts all of us. We grieve with you. Our hearts warble at the story you’re asked to live. We hate to see you hurt. Yet, we are brave because you are brave and we look to God with you. We expect with you that you will receive beauty, messages of joy, and a praising heart instead of despair and heartache. You inspire us. We open our hands to God and embrace our stories following your lead.

You are valuable, your story is valuable, and the life you grieve is not forgotten.
